I believe the final step in wireless headphone technology is to overcome its Achilles heel: bandwidth. With Bluetooth, there is only so much data that can be streamed, and for those of us who are looking for high-resolution audio, that is not enough. However, Bluetooth aptX HD and Sony's equivalent, LDAC, are vast improvements. At the same time, there are also aptX Adaptive and aptX Lossless to make things even better.
As I mentioned, I am currently testing a pair of aptX Adaptive earbuds, and the sound quality is truly incredible - and the earbuds cost nearly the same as a pair of AirPods Pro. Is there anything more impressive than wireless headphones? Just when you thought they couldn't get any better, they got even better.
